Digital Development

Video Production

Video is replacing text as a primary medium of product information, instruction, and communication. Today’s users would rather see the product and watch how something is done than read about it.

Successful video production requires:

  • Script Writing

  • Storyboarding

  • Animations

  • Audio Mastering

  • Editing

  • Production and Distribution

Successful organizations learn how to re-purpose content for video to deliver the same message to multiple audiences in multiple formats.

Presentations

Powerful presentations are essential to accomplishing change, obtaining approval, or accomplishing customer buy-in.

Studies show successful presentations delivery emotional impact that is personally meaningful to each audience member.

Whether delivered through PowerPoint, video, live presentation or all of the above, a presentation should:

  • Tell an interesting story

  • Talk to the audience, not at them

  • Appeal for their support

  • Be simple and full of impact

  • Use multimedia

My presentations are a purposeful, passionate plea to achieve your objective

Graphic Design

Graphic design communicates messages visually to solve a problem or achieve an objective. It makes use of:

  • Imagery
Video, photographs, textures, artwork, icons, and other visual design elements

  • Colour
    Small pallette of complimentary colours

  • Typefaces
Small set of compliementary typefaces in an established hierarchy

that support the design’s overall message.

Graphic Design outputs form the building blocks of documents, presentations, and video for multiple uses and outputs.

Technical Illustrations

Technical Illustration uses illustration to visually communicate technical information. Technical illustrations can be components of technical drawings or diagrams. Technical illustrations in general aim “to generate expressive images that effectively convey certain information via the visual channel to the human observer”.

Technical illustrations generally have to describe and explain the subjects to a nontechnical audience. Therefore, the visual image should be accurate in terms of dimensions and proportions, and should provide “an overall impression of what an object is or does, to enhance the viewer’s interest and understanding”.

Web Design & Online Help Systems

Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites.  The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines.

Online help is topic-oriented, procedural or reference information delivered through computer software. It is a form of user assistance. Most online help is designed to give assistance in the use of a software application or operating system, but can also be used to present information on a broad range of subjects. When online help is linked to the state of the application (what the user is doing), it is called Context-sensitive help.
